Patnational was established to offer a first class solution for portable appliance testing in the East Midlands area.
PAT Testing affects every organisation, regardless of the size. The current UK law states that all electrical appliances are tested for their functionality and safe working order on a regular basis.
Fire officers and insurance companies are the main two bodies who will insist on seeing documental proof that annual testing is being adhered to.
Patnational can take all the worry and hassle of electrical testing from your in-tray; our process is the most effective way of keeping your records up to date and legal.
At Patnational, we use the very latest PC based operating equipment, allowing us to carry out the relevant tests and identify any faults that may cause an appliance to fail.
The tests carried out on each lead/appliance are:
*Visual – cable damage, cracked plugs etc
*Insulation – to ensure the product has a strong earth
*Leakage – the flow of electricity through the wires is at a safe level
*Functionality – the appliance has to be in safe working order when tested
If the above pass, the appliance is deemed safe to use. This will satisfy all the relevant bodies associated with electrical safety.
A detailed print out is generated for every lead/ appliance, stating the ID number, date of the test and pass/ fail results.
As a rule, an average workstation consisting of a PC, monitor, printer, copier and all leads would only need to be powered down for 15 minutes – we always work around the client’s requirements when scheduling PC shutdowns.
